Trendy hijabi evening wear

Like most other women out there, we absolutely love dressing up for a big night out – and staying chic and modest while we do it!

Whether you’re getting ready for a special celebration, a formal event or the party of the year, we’ve got some great tips for you on how to keep your evening outfit looking on point.

Play with contrasts

Love the dramatic look of a floor length black gown, but don’t really want to look like an extra from the Addams Family?

We get it. And here’s where your hijab can be an instant style uplift. Instead of working head-to-toe in a single sombre shade, add a bold injection of colour, or a bright and lively print to bring your evening look to life.

To keep the overall look cohesive and co-ordinated, make sure that there are elements that tie everything together. Accessories are a great way of achieving this – try a simple metallic belt to streamline your gown, and complement this with a beautiful metallic coloured scarf!

If you’d like to play with a brightly coloured print, choose a handbag and accessories that will highlight your accent colours – a brilliant way to add a subtle pop of colour, without being overdone.

Swirl in chiffon

Evening gowns are the perfect excuse to swan around in gorgeous, swishy floor length dresses – there’s nothing quite like the look and feel of a sweeping chiffon shirt as you swirl around the room!

So when you’re picking your evening wear outfit, pay close attention to texture and fabric choice. Even the simplest of dresses can look outstandingly graceful in a soft, flowing and luxurious fabric.

Chiffon feels ethereal and wonderfully feminine – it looks perfect in wide, flowing evening dresses and long, draped details. Sweep an elegant cape behind you, or cast a spell in ballerina-inspired layers of sheer nude coloured chiffon. With an opaque underlayer, it’s a look that stays modest, while retaining all of its beauty.

Catch the glamour of lace

Delicate and ornate, lace can add a beautiful traditional touch, to even the most contemporary silhouette. It’s also a really versatile form of embellishment, so you can work with lace in a number of ways

For a really romantic number, go for head to lace – with a sweet touch of vintage inspiration, this style evokes a delicious feel of old-world glamour. Pale cream looks charmingly demure, while for a more dramatic feel, contrast darker lace with a bold coloured underlay.

Or to try a fresh and modern twist on lace, look for lace embellishments and details. A lace bodice or bolero style sleeves create the illusion of layering, while subtle touches of lace at the waist in a sophisticated and minimalist take on evening wear.

No sleeves? No problem!

Fallen in love with the dress of your dreams – but found it has no sleeves?

You don’t need to spoil the look with unsightly under sleeves or frumpy cardigans. Instead, you’ve got the perfect opportunity to layer your look, and create a sassy, contemporary evening style.

For a smart and stylish outfit that would be perfect for a work-related evening do, add a cropped blazer on top. Match your hijab with your blazer rather than your dress to avoid looking too repetitive.

To glam it up, add shape and detailing. A swirling kimono  looks fabulous atop a flowing gown and adds a hint of exotic appeal, while a delicately beaded bolero jacket can add a brilliant splash of opulence.

With so many gorgeous ways to style an outfit for evening, we’re pretty excited and can’t wait to go out!
